The Ninjas In Pyjamas player stepped away from the competitive CSGO scene for unspecified health reasons. After a five-month layoff, Hampus announces that he feels ready to get back in front of the monitor once again.
The 24-year-old retweeted a post by HLTV editor-in-chief Milan Švejda, in which Švejda discussed the imminent return of Hampus. He added a caption to the retweeted post, stating “I'm back.”
NIP COO Jonas “calc” Gundersen had earlier told HLTV that NIP is assessing the situation and would be delighted to have him back. The Swedes, however, will not rush into any decision and decide their next step during the off-season.
Academy player Max “maxster” Jansson deputized for Hampus at the BLAST Premier Spring Groups. The Swedes then brought in Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke as a permanent replacement. While k0nfig has not been in exceptional form since coming in, it's uncertain that NIP will swap him for Hampus straight away.
