Gorgc Reveals Teams He Is Surprised To See At Bali Major

Two  “unknown” Bali Major teams caught Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski's attention during his latest live stream

The competitive Dota 2 scene thrives on surprises, and as the Bali Major 2023 approaches, renowned streamer Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski is taken aback by the presence of two unfamiliar teams among those qualified for the tournament.

Both Blacklist International and Bleed Esports have successfully secured their positions for the Bali Major by winning 5 series and losing 2 in the DPC SEA 2023 Tour 3 Division I, while Talon Esports narrowly missed out with a score of 4 wins and 3 losses. It is particularly disappointing since Talon Esports is widely recognized as the most renowned team in Southeast Asia, further emphasizing their absence from the Bali Major 2023.

While Bleed Esports and Blacklist International are relatively new names in the Southeast Asian Dota 2 scene, their players are anything but inexperienced. The teams boast a roster of experienced veterans, including well-known names like Daryl “iceiceice” Koh, Djardel “DJ” Mampusti, Kim “DuBu” Doo-young, Marc “Raven” Fausto, and more.

During his latest live stream, Gorgc reviewed the list of teams that successfully qualified for the Bali Major 2023. He, however, encountered difficulty in recognizing two Southeast Asian teams, namely Bleed Esports and Blacklist International. Although Gorgc managed to identify Bleed Esports due to the presence of player iceiceice, he remained unfamiliar with Blacklist International.

“Bleed… Oh Bleed made it? Who’s Blacklist? Who are these… Azure Ray? Nouns? The powerhouse of NA. Of course, they made it over TSM. Who is on Bleed? Isn't that iceiceice team? I thought they were Div II. Liquipedia… let's see. Oh, it is iceiceice team, and Dubu, what the f*ck. These guys came up. They were not Div II, maybe I missed it. Blacklist… let's see, whos on Blacklist? Oh, it's the SEA team, I mean Filipino, right? It's the Philippines, I think so.”

Emerging onto the Dota 2 scene in late 2022, Blacklist International swiftly garnered attention and admiration from both fans and analysts. Despite being a relatively new organization, they have skillfully assembled a roster comprising experienced veterans hailing from the Southeast Asian region.

Under the guidance of their captain, Timothy “TIMS” Randrup, the team showcases exceptional talent with notable players like Raven, Karl “Karl” Baldovino, Damien “kpii” Chok, and Carlo “Kuku” Palad. Their outstanding performance in the DPC culminated in an impressive 2nd place finish, securing their highly anticipated spot in the upcoming Bali Major 2023.
