Gorgc and Ceb Outline the Possibility of Nigma Galaxy Shifting from WEU to NA

The two prominent Dota 2 streamers shared their own thoughts about the team's future while watching the tie-breakers on Twitch

In the world of esports, or specifically Dota 2 in this case, it is quite common to look for new opportunities and adapt to the circumstances.

The North American Dota2 scene has some promising teams, but overall, the level of competitiveness in this region is not as fierce as it is in Europe.

Nigma Galaxy is one of NA's emerging top-ranked teams who have been plying their trade in European competitions, but their cross-Atlantic journey has seen more than its fair share of struggles.

They have tried shuffling their roster and roles, changing strategies and anything else possible to cope with the trials and tribulations of European Dota, but are yet to make significant progress.

Nigma's European ambitions suffered the latest blow when their subpar performances at the Dota 2 Pro Circuit (DPC) Western European (WEU) 2023 Tour 2: Division I, led to a relegation to Division II.

Dota streamers Sébastien “Ceb” Debs and Janne “Gorgc” Stefanovski recently discussed on their Twitch live stream about Nigma's lack of Nigma's achievements in the WEU regions and why they haven't sailed back home to NA yet.

They also did not deny that, despite Nigma's shortcomings, they have the potential to do better in Europe. In fact, they agree that Nigma may be better performers on land compared to online.

Gorgc and Ceb's Speculations on Nigma Galaxy's Relocation to NA

“I don’t know why it hasn’t happened yet. Why does no Europe team like Nigma, Secret…why don’t they just go to NA? Is it too hard to get some passports or something? It’s not worth it? The pride thing?” Gorgc asked.

As the two streamers watched the tie-breakers from WEU DPC Tour 2 live on Twitch, Ceb responded:

“Yeah, I think it’s the pride thing. You have to realize that Nigma players are TI winners. I am not saying they are cocky, they are probably everything but cocky, especially after all the hardship they went through. But they still must think that they are good enough to be amongst the best in the world.”

He continued, “It’s not like they won TI. They were dominating everyone for so long. Team Liquid TI7 – it was not only just a TI winning team, arguably they were much stronger than most of the TI winning teams. They were smashing everybody. It was (on TI7 being a 3-0 final). But also they won the, I can’t remember which tournament but they won so many tournaments before – DreamLeagues – whatever the golden era was with Miracle- and MATUMBAMAN. These guys are not thinking of an easy way. They are like – we can do this.”

While many are buying slots, it seems that teams like Nigma and Secret are doing it the hard way which is appreciable despite the competitiveness and such a strong roster of high ranking WEU teams.

“Maybe it (Nigma) would help them bring their confidence back in a way because these guys are much better on LAN than they are online. There’s that too. Nothing is a bad move.” Ceb commented while Gorgc agreed.

It appears that if Secret or Nigma were to relocate to NA, it would strengthen the region by miles and maybe even change the scenery.

Despite Nigma's disappointing relegation to Division II, they are undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with, which is why they may stand a chance to secure a spot in the upcoming Majors.
