Want to know how to get Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Fortnite? This is where it is and how you can grab one each game.
Fortnite just got a brand-new update which included a major new crossover for the game. Joining the likes of Spider-Man in Fortnite and others, we’ve now got Bender in Fortnite along with other characters from Futurama! However, Bender is the focus of the new in-game item. Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun is a brand-new weapon, and players might be trying to track it down and test the new item out.
As usual, everyone in the loop is trying to track down the new weapon. It’s an item that might not show up all the time, so it can be helpful to know the exact method for how to find it. You’ll need to grab Bender or rely on a little bit of luck.
Like any other crossover, it’s going to be competitive securing the first new weapon in each game. A lot of players are likely going to be searching it out after the V25.20 update. If you want to track down Bender in Fortnite along with Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun, this is where you can find it in each game.
How to Get Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun
There are two different ways that you can track down Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in the game. The first is the most reliable, you’ll need to find an NPC. A Bender NPC has been added to the game with the new update. You can find him in-game and purchase a ray gun from him.
Where is Bender in Fortnite?
The first step for grabbing a Shiny Metal Raygun is to track down the NPC.
The Bender NPC is located in the south of Mega City. If you want to get a guaranteed Metal Shiny Raygun, you’ll need to track down the NPC in each game. It’s the best way to get one without random loot. He’s near a launchpad. So even if it’s a hot drop and players are all descending on Bender, you’ll be able to get away quickly once you grab the Shiny Metal Raygun. There are other methods to get the gun too though.
Get Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in Random Loot
Bender in Fortnite sells the gun, but you can also just find it around the map. You’ll need to search out chests, floor loot, and more. Eventually, you’ll get the gun just from random looting. This method is much less reliable than just tracking down the NPC though, so just keep that in mind. It’s basically the same odds as finding any other of the top Fortnite C4 S3 weapons.
How Does Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun Works?
This is a brand-new crossover item in the game, but it does work quite similarly to some other past items in the game. Specifically, it’s actually pretty close to older crossover items in some ways. It has a lot in common with past alien guns, and even shares a mechanic with the Star Wars pistol. Fitting that Bender in Fortnite’s weapon ties in with past sci-fi crossovers too.
Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun has a new animated look which fits the theme of Futurama. However, in function, it’s essentially a reskinned version of Kymera’s Raygun. This is a weapon from the UFO season. The Bender version is a bit stronger though, so it’ll likely show up in the later circles a bit more often than the last raygun.
The Shiny Metal Raygun will do more damage than in past versions. It fires a solid beam which doesn’t need ammo. You’ll instead need to keep an eye on the weapon itself. It can overheat! This means you can’t spam it infinitely, but it’s great if you’re a little low on ammo. You can fire for about five seconds then it’ll start to cooldown. It takes about two seconds to calm back down after that. You don’t need to ditch it and grab a fresh one-off Bender in Fortnite at any point though since it has unlimited ammo.
How Long is Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun in the Game For?
The new Raygun has been added specifically for a crossover. Just like the Fortnite X Star Wars events or other crossovers, this has an expiry date. Once the crossover isn’t the focus of the game, we’ll see the items get returned to the Vault, not to be seen again.
Bender’s Shiny Metal Raygun will be in the game for about two weeks. It’s due to end on August 8th. It’s likely the new weapon will get removed then too, along with the skins leaving the prime focus in the Fortnite item shop. We’ve only got until then to enjoy the gun so grab it while you can.
