Find out everything you need to know about Fortnite’s PlayStation-only Generations Cup.

Epic Games and Sony have teamed up to host a Fortnite: Battle Royale tournament for PlayStation players only. Dubbed the Generations Cup, PlayStation diehards have the opportunity to score a brand new PlayStation 5 by competing. This competition includes all seven competitive Fortnite regions – Europe, NA East, NA West, Brazil, Oceania, Asia and the Middle East. Those who finish inside a certain placement threshold will walk away with an exclusive PlayStation cosmetic skin as well.

Generations Cup Format & Date

This tournament is open only to players on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It features a solo format and will occur in just one day and one session. Participants need to maximize their points per game to have a shot at the top prize. Queues for this tournament open on December 18 for most regions. This tournament is region-locked, meaning you can only compete in one session. Here is the format:

  • Three-hour session
  • Maximum of ten matches
  • Accumulate as many points as possible

Generations Cup Scoring System

Placement is the name of the game under this scoring system, but you’ll need to earn some eliminations as well. One Victory Royale equals ten points, meaning you’d need ten eliminations to equal one win. Taking a conservative approach and fighting when necessary, will work in any player’s favor. Here is the full scoring system breakdown:

  • Victory Royale: 10 Points
  • 2nd – 5th: 7 Points
  • 6th – 15th: 5 Points
  • 16th – 25th: 3 Points
  • 25th – 50th: 1 Point
  • Each Elimination: 1 Point
