Fortnite: Loki Appears In Leaked Loading Screen

Marvel Comics supervillain known as Loki might be coming to Fortnite Battle Royale.
Epic Games released Fortnite’s latest update — patch v16.50 — earlier this morning. As per usual, leakers within the scene arrived in full force with overwhelming amounts of information. One tidbit stood out regarding Marvel Comics character Loki, who most fans will recognize from the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). That leak included a silhouette of Loki on a loading screen, leading many to believe he could join Fortnite’s cast of characters relatively soon.

Fortnite leaker HYPEX revealed the latest exclusive Fortnite Crew loading screen. Upon closer inspection, Loki’s appearance in the background became clear. The silhouette depicted him with his patented Scepter and Crown. Any Marvel fans who have watched the numerous Avengers films would agree. A follow-up tweet showed a modernized silhouette of Thor opposite Loki.

You may be wondering what exactly this means. Well, since Marvel’s crossover with Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 2 – Season 4, more characters such as Ant-Man have surfaced in the Item Shop. Marvel and Epic Games parties have a long-running relationship, so there’s no reason to believe that Loki won’t follow suit. Thor already exists as Fortnite skin, but that hasn’t stopped Epic before.
The latest crossover could even be a crafty promotion for the upcoming Disney+ tv series titled “Loki,” which focuses on the Tom Hiddleston-portrayed character. The series is due to start airing episodes on June 9, coincidentally one day after Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 7 begins. Loki could be the next Fortnite Crew incentive or Battle Pass candidate. We’ll have to keep a close eye on the transition to Fortnite’s next season.
