Fortnite FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1: EU Semi-Finals Preview & Predictions

Get ready for this weekend’s pivotal European FNCS Semi-Finals.

European competitive Fortnite players are mere days away from the most challenging gauntlet of Chapter 3 Season 1. In the aftermath of two grueling back-to-back FNCS Qualifiers—those who failed to finish top eight have an arduous task ahead. This weekend’s FNCS Semi-Finals could be a sprint for some and a marathon for others.

The goal is simple; win one of 16 matches or play consistently in one of three sessions to secure a position in the Chapter 3 Season 1 Final. However, that objective becomes much more difficult with the number of talented Duos and potential spawn fights lurking in every corner.

Today, ESTNN provides you with a list of teams expected to compete across three days of the FNCS Semi-Finals. Thanks to statistical guru and the most accurate qualification threshold predictor — Kinch Analytics — we have a complete list of Duos set to compete in the semis based on Series Points. After laying down the format and teams, we’ll choose some of our favorites to advance in the FNCS.

ESTNN’s Picks to Advance

Setty & Chapix

BL Setty and Falcon Chapix is a Duo many expected to advance directly from Qualifiers One or Two to the Grand Finals. Instead, they barely missed round three in Qualifier One and finished 11th in Qualifier Two.

Those results, mixed with how well Setty and Chapix have played since joining forces, should translate to success in the Semi-Finals. Expect them to find their way into the Finals, where they’ll contend for another Axe of Champions.

Aqua & Noahreyli

Height wins matches—we’ve heard this saying multiple times in competitive Fortnite. It’s also evident that LootBoy Aqua is one of the best high-ground competitors in the world. The former World Champion has a tall order ahead of them, considering how many other Duos will land at The Daily Bugle.

He and mechanical genius BL Noahreyli will potentially have 16 opportunities to either win a match or qualify through consistency. We like those odds for one of the best Duos on paper in the European region.

Letshe & Swillium

Since the two started playing together, we’ve been riding the G2 Letshe/Swillium train. Quite frankly, Letshe’s current gameplay is some of the best we have seen out of him in a while. However, this Duo’s struggles in the Qualifiers were a bit concerning.

Letshe and Swillium finished 41st and 44th, respectively, in Qualifiers One and Two. That effort would not be enough in the Semi-Finals to advance.

Regardless, these two players possess the talent and fragging capabilities to secure a Victory Royale or perhaps perform consistently. It only takes one crucial elimination or refresh to swing a match in their favor. We believe that will happen eventually.

TaySon & Th0masHD

Four-time FNCS Champion Falcon TaySon and Duo partner Astralis Th0masHD have not reached their potential in Chapter 3 Season 1. The pair have not dominated as we’ve seen in previous seasons.

Still, it’s impossible to ignore that TaySon and Th0masHD could arrive and remind everyone of their capabilities. This weekend, these two players should easily earn a Victory Royale or a top-six consistency placement.

Merstach & Malibuca

One of the most surprising outcomes following the FNCS Qualifiers was Centric Merstach and TT9 Malibuca not qualifying for the Finals. The Latvian/Russian tandem has performed well in almost every tournament since Chapter 3 Season 1 began. Not many expected them to finish 22nd and 38th in the two Qualifiers.

While not terrible, competitive Fortnite fans expected these Merstach and Malibuca to make a statement. There’s no doubt this Duo should win a match in session one and earn some much-needed rest before the Grand Finals next weekend.

The FNCS Chapter 3 Season 1 Semi-Final begin Friday. Epic Games will host an official broadcast for all three Semi-Final sessions. For more on that, visit our viewership guide. Also, check out our Qualifier recap to see which teams secured a spot in the Season Finals.
