Find out everything you need to know about the new Victory Crown feature in Fortnite Chapter 3.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 1 finally arrived this morning following the Chapter 2 Finale event. To the delight of most players, Epic Games constructed an entirely new map, added new weapons and mechanics. Chapter 3 is full of surprises and intrigue at every corner.

A slew of new features awaits those willing to begin their Fortnite Chapter 3. However, none is more intriguing than the brand new Victory Crown feature, which makes winning more valuable and rewarding one of the most exciting additions.

What is the Victory Crown

A Victory Crown is an item you earn from placing high enough in a Battle Royale match. Once picking it up, the Victory Crown occupies an inventory slot and appears as a visual aura above the carrier. Possessing the Victory Crown until the end of each game yields players the new Crowned Victory Royale.

Here is a description from Epic’s blog post:

“Place highly enough in Battle Royale and earn a victory crown. You’ll start your next match wearing a crown — but with bragging rights come high stakes. The crown will shine in all its glory, making you stand out to those seeking a victory crown of their own. Hold on to your crown for bonus XP during the match, and if you’re skilled enough to win while wearing the crown, you’ll get an exclusive Emote!”

Victory Crown holders gain access to a set of challenges that include bonus experience points (XP). That means hanging on to the crown and accomplishing the predefined tasks could be worthwhile.

Victory Crown Emote

As if all the information above wasn’t enough, Epic Games added a unique Victory Crown Emote into Chapter 3 Season 1. The Emote depicts your chosen character outfit holding up a red pillow with a two-digit number above it. That number will update with each earned Crowned Victory Royale throughout the season.

That cover everything we know about the Victory Crown thus far. We’ll be sure to update this post with any additional information gathered.
