The highly anticipated Fortnite Chapter 3 has officially arrived.
Rumors of Fortnite’s next massive overhaul began early in Chapter 2 – Season 8 during the Cube invasion. Before long, Epic Games let content creators in on the secret. It became evident after some time that Chapter 3 would follow Chapter 2 – Season 8. Not many knew what to expect following the Chapter 2 Finale event dubbed “The End.” Would there be a new map, mechanics and more?
The answer to all of the above was yes. Chapter 2’s Finale concluded with the previous Island flipped completely upside down. That lone storyline meant fans would experience a brand new map in Chapter 3, and Epic soon revealed the highly-anticipated Spider-Man collaboration and much more.

Chapter 3 Season 1 Map
The new Island features new places to explore and old locations that long-time fans will remember. However, the Daily Bugle is perhaps the most eye-catching from the outset. Inspired by Peter Parker’s place of employment, the Daily Bugle is a critical location in the Spider-Man lore.
Another place that has never appeared in Fortnite is the Sanctuary—the hidden home of The Seven. There are plenty of landmarks and points of interest to explore in Chapter 3 beyond the two mentioned.
Here is every new (and old) named POI in Chapter 3 – Season 1:
- Logjam Lumberyard
- Shifty Shafts
- Greasy Grove
- Camp Cuddle
- Sleepy Sound
- Coney Crossroads
- Rocky Reels
- Chonker’s Speedway
- Condo Canyon
- The Joneses
- The Daily Bugle
- Sanctuary
Sliding & Swinging Mechanics
The previously leaked sliding mechanic is now officially in Fortnite Battle Royale. As depicted in the trailer above, players can slide a decent distance and fire their weapon while performing the action.
Another new mechanic included in Chapter 3 Season 1 honors the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Swinging is now an option to traverse the landscape just like the Marvel superhero has done for decades. However, Spider-Man’s Web-Shooters will not be available in-game until December 11.
Camps, Victory Crowns & More Ways to Earn XP
Epic Games have added Camps as a new feature in Chapter 3. These bases allow players to heal and store items from match to match as a solo or with a team. Victory Crowns are another addition this season that we’ve never seen before. It’s not entirely clear what their function is yet, but Epic describes Crowns as the ultimate prestige.
For Battle Pass diehards, Epic is evolving the way players earn XP. Chapter 3’s blog post indicates the new Accolade Device grants the ability to level up beyond Battle Royale mode. It’s a feature that makes Battle Pass progression easier and more accessible.
