Fortnite: World Cup Champion Aqua And Teammates Disqualified From FNCS Week 3 Finals

Epic Games disqualified Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon from the week three FNCS Finals.

Sometime after covering the semi-finals encounter between top trios benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTsHe and Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon, ESTNN learned that Epic Games disqualified Aqua and his teammates from the week three FNCS Finals and issued them a warning. Aqua confirmed this information on his Twitch stream. This punishment transpired rather quickly after these two top trios encountered each other multiple times during the week three Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) Qualifier. Aqua’s trio pursued Benjy’s trio on two separate occasions, which ultimately led to benjyfishy, MrSavage and LeTsHe not reaching the Grand Finals. This confrontation led to stream sniping accusations and MrSavage identifying a rule break that Aqua allegedly committed. Quicker than anyone could have imagined, Epic decided to discipline Aqua and his teammates based on the evidence available to them.

Aqua, Rezon and Noahreyli Disqualified

In response to the DQ, Aqua retweeted his post from October 18, where he wrote, “epic likes benjy more i guess.” Before that, Aqua tweeted a picture of himself and Benjy in front of the Doom’s Domain statue. The two trios have consistently battled each other in competitive matches this season. Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon reached the week three finals with 166 points and three Victory Royales. However, they did not last more than one game in the Grand Finals. Despite an impressive nine-elimination fourth-place finish in the first match, Aqua and company failed to queue into subsequent games. A 34th team appeared on the leaderboards, meaning Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon were no longer in the competition.

Aqua, Rezon and Noahreyli Will Play in Heats

Aqua released a Twitlonger post, stating, “we are not banned we just dont wanna play its boring without early fighting benjy :(.” He went live on Twitch later in the evening, stating that Epic removed his trio from the finals and issued a warning. Aqua and his teammates Noahreyli and Rezon will be eligible for FNCS Heats and the Season 4 Finals. Rezon reacted to the situation with a meme similar to the trend Aqua started after the disqualification. It's important to note that Aqua also confirmed that this is a disqualification, not a ban.

Aqua also revisited an incident in Chapter 2 – Season 1, where Benjy and his teammates Mongraal, Wolfiez and Nayte stood accused of stream sniping.

As all this drama unfolds, it’s important to remember that Epic typically does not address the disciplines that it enforces directly. Player’s usually do not know until they see an in-game message, which states the length and reason for the punishment. I doubt anything will change in this scenario. The Fortnite developers recently warned Fortnite World Cup Champion Bugha for collusion with no analysis or information. What we do know at this point is that Aqua, Noahreyli and Rezon will have the opportunity to finish out this competitive season of Fortnite. ESTNN reached out to all parties for comment but has not received a response.
