Find out where all IO Guards spawn in Chapter 2 – Season 5.
Fortnite: Battle Royale’s latest season introduced a wide range of locations, mechanics, and weapons. One of the peskier additions came in the form of IO Guards. These non-player characters (NPCs) will attack if provoked in the slightest. They spawn in groups of three, come armed with Tactical Assault Rifles and relentlessly attack until you eliminate them or vice-versa. Learning where these IO Guards spawn could be infinitely useful in public or arena matches, considering no one enjoys a third-party NPC attacker.

Where to Find All IO Guard Spawns
I've mapped the IO Guard spawn locations.
There are currently 20 of them, and all are enabled. I decided to map these to see their exact locations and try and determine where they are tunneling from. We'll have to see if this map changes later on. pic.twitter.com/NQmBZCypVN

Thanks to Fortnite data miner, Mang0e, we have access to a comprehensive map of IO Guard spawns. Fifteen locations in total are spread out evenly across Season 5’s vast terrain. Numerous named points of interest (POIs) do not have IO Guard spawns close enough to be deemed a threat. Those particular locations include Dirty Docks, Sweaty Sands, Catty Corner, Retail Row, Holly Hedges, Salty Towers, Colossal Coliseum and Stealthy Stronghold. However, the 15 plotted points on the map above are worth avoiding to conserve your ammunition, health, shield and sanity.
NPCs Disabled in Competitive Modes
We've disabled NPCs and AI in competitive playlists as we investigate an issue.

Competitive Fortnite players should not worry about NPCs for the time being. Epic Games disabled all NPCs, including IO Guards, hunters and The Mandalorian in Arena. The developers are investigating an issue. This scenario could play out similar to past seasons, where Epic removes something and never adds it back. Only time will tell if that holds true or not.
