As outlined by the ESL regulations, in the event of a team's withdrawal from the tournament following the qualifier stage but before the replacement deadline, the subsequent team in the bracket will receive an invitation. In the current scenario, the American outfit secured the fourth-place position in the closed qualifier, trailing behind OG, Cloud9, and Astralis — all of whom have already received invitations or qualified for the competition.
In the event of a team dropping out before the initiation of the closed qualifier, the invite would have been extended to the next eligible team from the region based on their position in the ESL World Ranking.
The latest development comes after the ESL announced that it has asked OG to replace an unnamed IEM Dallas 2023 team. Iulian “regali” Harjău will deputize for OG’s Russian AWPer Abdul “degster” Gasanov at the IEM Dallas 2023, who wanted to take a break after the Paris Major.
The IEM Dallas 2023 is set to unfold from May 29 to June 4, as the city of Dallas, Texas prepares to welcome 16 CSGO teams, who will fight for the highest stake in the $250,000 prize pool. The winner of the competition will also qualify for the IEM Cologne 2023. IEM Dallas champions will also enter the race for the prestigious Intel Grand Slam Season 5 crown.
Fnatic will compete alongside Heroic, G2, and ENCE as they make their return to the LAN stage following their exit from the Paris Major in 9-11th place.
