PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Grand Final-FaZe Clan vs. Natus Vincere Preview: How the Teams Fared So Far

FaZe Clan

FaZe Clan had a shaky start to their campaign, but they have returned to their usual form in the past couple of matches. They have seen off two of the hot favorites to reach this stage. After edging out Team Spirit in a nail-biting quarterfinal match, Finn “karrigan” Andersen’s men cruised to a relatively more comfortable victory against Paris Major champions Vitality.

The international combine snatched away the first PGL Major Copenhagen 2024 Grand Final spot following their 2-1 series win over Vitality. Both teams enjoyed dominant wins on their map picks, so Inferno became the deciding map. The battle on Inferno broke out as a tense back-and-forth affair, but a late surge, inspired by a David “frozen” Čerňanský, took FaZe to the finishing line with a healthy five-point lead.

Natus Vincere

Natus Vincere were also inconsistent in the early stages of the tournament. The Ukrainian outfit came to Denmark without their star man Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev and limped through the Opening and Elimination Stages to reach the playoffs. From there on, however, they have been a different beast.

They put an in-form Eternal Fire side to the sword in the quartrfinals. The Turkish side picked up some big wins in the tournament, but they were unable to contain a resurgent NAVI and conceded the series with a map to spare. Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen and company continued their newfound resilience as they survived an intense confrontation with G2 to remain one of the last two standing.
