EternaLEnVy Bids Farewell To Dota 2

The former Team Secret star has decided to move away from everything related to Dota 2

Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao retired from professional Dota 2 last year, but now the 31-year-old has decided to take a complete break from the game by cutting all ties with it. He will be appearing in front of his fans with one last Twitch stream, he further announced on Twitter. 

Before saying goodbye to the game for good, the Dota 2 legend is selling off his limited edition custom-designed mousepads. EternaEnvy announced his retirement in July 2022 and since then he has been a regular on Twitch. 

His fans and peers expressed their appreciation of his illustrious career that lasted a decade. Jonathan “Loda” Berg, a former The International winner, also took his time to celebrate EternalEnvy’s achievements. 

EternaLEnVy is known for his eccentricity both in and out of the gaming chair, so while his recent retirement may have caught some fans off guard, it's not entirely unexpected given his history.

He made his professional debut in 2012 and it took him only a year to win his first Tier 1 tournament. The carry’s first Tier 1 silverware came at the MLG Championship Columbus in 2013 with Speed He has played for a plethora of teams in search of his success, but his most successful spell was with Team Secret, where he won the MLG World Finals, Nanyang Dota 2 Championships, and the Shanghai Major 2016. EternalEnvy also came close to winning the Frankfurt Major 2015 and the StarLadder i-League StarSeries Season 2 with the European giants.
