The ESL Pro Tour Dota 2 Season 2 schedules are out! The tournament organizer shared its upcoming plans for next season on its official website. Exciting news awaits Dota 2 fans, as ESL has some major events lined up for the coming year. We've compiled all the details right here for you to check out!
What Changes Has Been Announced?
The approaching second season of the ESL Pro Tour introduces alterations to its structure. Here are the changes set to take place:
- New EPT Points system and ranking board
- Expanded Season 2 calendar featuring a total of three DreamLeague and two ESL One tournaments
- DreamLeague Season 21 results added to EPT Points leaderboard
- Direct invitations now only depend on EPT Points
- TI performances mostly contributed to the ESL One Kuala Lumpur invites
- Open & Closed Qualifiers for all future events
- MENA is now a qualifier region
- Bonus Armor for both ESL One Kuala Lumpur and ESL One Europe
ESL Pro Tour Dota 2 Season 2: What’s Coming?
As per the latest announcement, ESL is set to host three DreamLeague events and two LAN competitions, each offering a million-dollar prize. The Riyadh Masters 2024 is the only tournament with an undisclosed reward, but its timing aligns with the annual Gamers8 festival. This event is marked as “Redacted,” linking it to the EPT.

The recent DreamLeague S21 and the upcoming Kuala Lumpur LAN events contribute to the Season 2 EPT points. Significant changes to the overall EPT system, however, will not take effect until DreamLeague Season 22 is underway.

ESL One Kuala Lumpur

ESL One Kuala Lumpur is the upcoming Dota 2 tournament on ESL’s calendar, and the best part is you don’t have to wait until 2024 to enjoy it. Taking place from December 11 to 18, twelve teams will battle it out in Malaysia, delivering live performances in front of an enthusiastic audience!
DreamLeague Season 22
DreamLeague 22 is switching back to a two-week tournament format. After ESL One Kuala Lumpur finishes, the best four teams on the EPT leaderboard will get a direct invite to join the DreamLeague 22 lineup.
ESL One Europe
ESL One Europe will mark the return of ESL One Dota on European shores. The specific country set to host this gaming extravaganza remains a mystery, nonetheless.
DreamLeague Season 23
Fans will be treated to another DreamLeague event right after the ESL One Europe concludes.
Undisclosed Tournament
There's a tournament scheduled for the middle of the year that hasn't been revealed yet. Speculations suggest that this tournament will replace the Riyadh Masters. It's anticipated that the top eight teams on the EPT leaderboard will receive invitations to compete in this potentially lucrative event.
DreamLeague Season 24
Another DreamLeague tournament will take place after the undisclosed tournament.
ESL One Asia
An ESL One Asia will wrap up the ESL Pro Tour Dota 2 Season 2. The host country is yet to be determined.
