The long-awaited Playoffs of ESL Pro League Season 17 take off with FURIA Esports meeting Fnatic
Given the sheer length of the tournament, it’s easy to forget how each team did unless you’ve been following the entire tournament as we have. FURIA Esports and Fnatic both managed to reach the Playoffs, but where FURIA only lost one game in their Group, Fnatic barely managed to squeak through the Lower Bracket. The Brazilians are the favorites going into the matchup, but Fnatic aren’t far behind them in the rankings so this one promises to be a cracker. Whether CSGO betting is your thing or not, you’ll want to know more about the match from this preview.

FURIA Esports
The Brazilian side has tons of talent, but can’t seem to hit the highs they need to win S-Tier tournaments. We said before that FURIA only lost one match in their group, but the match they did lose was against the only top 10 team they faced. Fnatic are just outside the top 10, and they could exploit FURIA’s inconsistency. That being said, if the latter’s players find good form, they could just as easily blow their Swedish opponents away.

Player to Watch
Given his scintillating form, we’d be hard pressed not to name KSCERATO as the player to watch in FURIA this match.
Fnatic
The Swedish side has been struggling for a long time with seemingly no end in sight. To their credit, they put up good fights against both Outsiders and G2, but on the flip side they dropped maps to Eternal Fire twice and IHC Esports. Fnatic undoubtedly have the goods to go far into this tournament, but they seem to not be able to connect at the level they should, at least not yet. They’re very similar to FURIA in that regard, so anything’s possible.

ESL Pro League Season 17 Playoffs: FURIA Esports vs Fnatic Predictions
The hardest matches to predict are those with two evenly matched unpredictable teams, but we’ll venture a guess that Fnatic will win it 2-1.
Maps
FURIA are rather partial to Vertigo, but Fnatic are likely to ban it out. On the other hand, Fnatic love Inferno but will probably not get the chance to play it. We’re going with Mirage, Nuke, and Overpass.
