Elisa, Relog Media, Funspark Unite To Form A $2.7m CS:GO Tournament

Things look bright for the European Counterstrike scene.

Finnish broadcasting company Elisa Esports has joined forces with event organizers Relog Media, Funspark and GRID as data partners to launch a new $2.7 million CS:GO event circuit for the year 2021-22.

According to a press release, the tournament will bring together the “most interesting and fascinating” esports teams across Europe. With courtesy of data partner GRID, the event circuit will have an overarching point system to rate performance of teams.

Teemu Koski, Head of Elisa Esports said, “With the extended tournament structure co-operated with Relog Media and Funspark, we wanted to provide a new way for European top teams to better their rankings and compete, even if they are not official partners with the largest commercial leagues.”

The Elisa Champion of Champions Tour

Elisa planned the entire event circuit to provide multiple layers of competition. The broadcasting company will add its Masters tournament on top of the existing Invitational structure. Quarterly planned invitationals will offer a prize pool of $400k. The winning teams of invitationals will gather for Masters, which will further provide a prize pool of $250k. Similar to Elisa, other partners will also organize their very own Masters competitions.

The Elisa Invitationals, Elisa Masters and Elisa Champion of Champions will be broadcasted on Elisa Esports’ Twitch channels in both Finnish and English. The company will share other broadcasters and local media partners before the event.
