EG Reportedly Letting Their Starting Roster Explore Other Options

According to sources close to Purest, Evil Geniuses are letting their Valorant starting roster explore other options and would face a significant pay cut if they decide to stay with the organization

Evil Geniuses, the North American team that won the biggest tournament of 2023 by lifting the Champions trophy, are letting the members of their starting roster explore other options – according to @purest on X (formerly Twitter). The leak also mentions that the players will have to face a significant cut in their pay if they decide to continue with EG in the next VCT Season.

As a result of this decision from EG, the following players of the team can look for offers from other organizations –

  • Kelden “Boostio” Pupello
  • Alexander “jawgemo” Mor
  • Corbin “C0M” Lee
  • Ethan “Ethan” Arnold
  • Max “Demon1” Mazanov
  • Christine “potter” Chi (Coach)

Valorant Community Disappointed with EG’s Decision

After this news, many in the Valorant community have expressed their disappointment in EG’s decision, as even after winning the biggest Esports event in the game and taking the team from the bottom to the top, the players will still have to be subjected to a pay cut.

The EG players themselves posted cryptically about their dissatisfaction before this announcement, with Ethan stating, “I miss old esports where if you were good, you were on a good team where there was something to grind for, and if you did it successfully, you got to reap the benefit. Where winning was everything.”

Similar posts were put out by the other members of the North American team as well.

If the players decide to look for opportunities in other teams, we are likely not going to see these five Champions winners be in the same squad. On the other hand, if they decide to stay together, they will have to face the reality of getting a big cut from their salary.
