Valorant Community Disappointed with EG’s Decision
After this news, many in the Valorant community have expressed their disappointment in EG’s decision, as even after winning the biggest Esports event in the game and taking the team from the bottom to the top, the players will still have to be subjected to a pay cut.

The EG players themselves posted cryptically about their dissatisfaction before this announcement, with Ethan stating, “I miss old esports where if you were good, you were on a good team where there was something to grind for, and if you did it successfully, you got to reap the benefit. Where winning was everything.”
I miss old esports
Where if you were good, you were on a good team
Where there was something to grind for, and if you did it successfully, you got to reap the benefits
Where winning was everything

If the players decide to look for opportunities in other teams, we are likely not going to see these five Champions winners be in the same squad. On the other hand, if they decide to stay together, they will have to face the reality of getting a big cut from their salary.
