Dota 2: Winter and Meracle Team Up to Form Alpha x Hashtag

One of Dota 2's most prolific players and one of it's most well-known casters are teaming up to create a brand new team in the Dota 2 scene.

The Southeast Asia Dota 2 scene has always been one of the most dynamic ones in terms of changes. Having said that, two of the strongest Thai organizations have just announced that they will be working together to form a new Dota 2 Team.

Alpha x Hashtag

The new team, called Alpha x Hashtag, features two of the most famous players in SEA. For the first time, Chan “WinteR” Litt Binn and Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen will play under the same banner.

Needless to say, Meracle is currently one of the best Singaporean players. In fact, he used to be a part of Complexity Gaming during the last DPC season. However, the team was unable to achieve any good results and even failed to qualify for TI 9. This led to a drastic decision from the organization to drop their Dota 2 team.

In terms of WinteR, most know him as a famous caster who took part in many different events over the years. In fact, most people who watched back then had no idea that he was also a pro player until he revealed it to the public. However, he turned out to be a pretty good position five player, so it will be very interesting to see him back in action.

Here is what Alpha x Hashtag’s current roster looks like:

  • Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen
  • Cheng “NothingToSay” Jin Xiang
  • Kim “Velo” Tae-sung
  • Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei
  • Chan “Winter” Litt Binn

Unfortunately, the new DPC season starts in early November. However, there will be many other tests for the new squad beforehand. Who knows, they might just become the new SEA powerhouse.
