MDL Chendu's Chinese qualifier was one of the most anticipated ones because there were so many good teams in attendance. In the end, arguably the best teams from the region right now made it to the first Major.

Since PSG.LGD did not take part in these qualifiers, Vici had little to no competition. They completely ripped through the Group Stage, securing themselves the first spot in their group. In fact, the first challenge for Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang and his teammates came in the semifinals. Even though many people did not expect RNGU to perform well, they were able to put up a decent game against Vici. Unfortunately, the TI 4 runners-up won the series and secured the first spot for the Major.
Aster
Team Aster went through a massive roster change for the new DPC season. By the looks of it, the changes were definitely for the better.
Aster took the first place in Group B and then had to face EHOME in the semifinals. This was one of the most interesting series in the entire qualifiers as both teams gave it all out. However, Aster was able to deliver their knock out punch and secured the series with 2-1 victory.
EHOME
With their backs against the wall, Zhao “XinQ” Zixing and Co. went toe to toe with Royal Never Give Up for the 3rd place in the qualifier which gave the final ticket for the MDL Chengdu Major.
Even though RNGU played very well, Tang “897” Zhirui was having the time of his life. He was one of the main reasons for EHOME's success. This was especially true in game three because it was nearly an hour long. In the end, EHOME is the third team that has made it to the first Major of this DPC season.
We are yet to see what will happen in EU, CIS, NA, and SA. However, one thing is certain – it is definitely going to be worth watching.
