Dota 2: Two Teams Added to DreamLeague Season 12

The 12th season of DreamLeague is about to begin in less than two weeks now. However, unlike previous seasons, this time there will be only two slots for the LAN event. To makes matters worse, those two spots are going to be determined via the regional qualifiers.

What Happened

For better or worse, the entire qualifier was played in one single day. This might not seem like that much of an issue for some, but it’s not the most pleasant thing in the world. After all, the players were definitely getting tired after playing 7+ Dota games in a row.

EU Qualifier

The team that managed to prevail here was FlyToMoon. They were joined by a couple of solid teams, but somehow, they managed to navigate to the victory. Probably their hardest series was versus Team Singularity, which has one of the most promising rosters right now. That said, the players only have been playing together for a couple of weeks now, which means that they still need some time before they can unleash their full potential.

NA Qualifier

The NA qualifier was not as exciting as the EU ones because there were not that many famous teams. Despite that, Demon Slayers looked on another level as they won three series in a row without dropping a single game.

Conclusion

DreamLeague Season 12 will be held in Rotterdam, Netherlands, which is a lovely place. Apart from featuring some pretty cool teams, this event will have a $250K USD prize pool which is not bad at all, considering that it’s not even included in the DPC.

At this point in time, we don’t have any information about the format of the tournament. We only know that the first team to receive a direct invite was Ninjas in Pyjamas. As you know, Peter “ppd” Dager re-built the team from the ground up, and this will be one of the first challenges ahead of then.

Expect more information about DreamLeague Season 12 soon.
