By the looks of it, Justine Ryan Evangelista “Tino” Grimaldo will be the last person to join BOOM Esports.
BOOM Esports used to be one of the promising SEA teams around two years ago. Despite achieving some success in the local SEA Dota 2 scene, BOOM Esports wasn’t able to do much internationally.
The team recently managed to win the BTS Pro Series Season 9: SEA playoffs, which means that the new roster definitely has a lot of potential. Speaking of the roster, the company has been trying to rebuild its team since August this year. As you probably remember, many of the players decided to leave the team in order to find a better alternative. In fact, the only person that remained on the roster was Saieful “Fbz” Ilham.
A few weeks later, BOOM Esports decided to add some of the new team members. Besides Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer and Rolen Andrei Gabriel “skem” Ong, the fourth team member was Timothy John “Tims” Randrup. All of these players have a lot of potential, but they needed someone to complete the new roster. This is where Tino comes to play.

After searching for a new carry for several months, BOOM Esports finally found what they are looking for. Tino is one of the popular carry players in Dota 2, even though he hasn’t played for any of the top teams yet. Some Dota 2 fans were wondering what kind of players will BOOM bring into the team because skem is also a popular carry player. However, he is also known for being good hard support, and by the looks of it, he will take on this role.
As for Tino, the last team he was a part of was called Omega Esports and this was during the previous DPC. Although his team was unable to shine, Tino stood out in most games and proved that he is among the most promising carry players. Of course, we are yet to usee whether his skills will live up to most people’s expectations.
What’s next?
After the recent changes, BOOM Esports will start competing in the upcoming SEA DPC. Sadly, the team is not in Division I, which means it must play against lesser-known teams in Division II. Hopefully, they will be able to secure a top-two finish so that they have the chance to attend the second Major.
Here is BOOM’s current roster from position one to position five:
- Justine Ryan Evangelista “Tino” Grimaldo
- Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer
- Saieful “Fbz” Ilham
- Timothy John “Tims” Randrup
- Rolen Andrei Gabriel “skem” Ong
