Dota 2: TI 9 Battle Pass Overview

Finally, we are able to purchase this years’ Battle Pass! It includes a new game mode, living towers, consumables, a Coach’s challenge, and many other exclusive rewards. And of course, 25% of all Battle Pass sales will increase the prize pool of The International 2019.

There are three options to choose from when you purchase your Battle Pass.

  • The standard edition at level 1 for USD $9.99
  • Level 50 for USD $29.35
  • Level 100 for USD $44.99

Features

Wrath of the Mo’Rokai

This will be the special event for this years' Battle Pass. There is not much information about it yet; however, there will likely be two teams that will fight for Battle Points.

Jungle Expedition

Similar to last years’event, if you want to unlock a set for a specific hero, you have to go through various challenges with different heroes. This years’ heroes are Dazzle, Ursa and Sven.

The Living Towers

This will be the exclusive item for this Battle Pass, and it won’t be tradable or marketable after it ends. In order to get it, you must reach a certain level.

Coach’s Challenge

Dota 2 Coach Medals

For the first time, you can earn points by coaching. This feature was added in Dota some time ago, but it was never prevalent. Now, your team, which will be composed of lower MMR than yours, will be able to rate your coaching abilities after each match. Your Coaching rating will rise after each match. Once you reach a certain level, you will gain additional Battle Points.

New Party Finder

We all had that moment after a game where we want to add a specific player to our friends' list to play together. You can now add players that you like to a pool, and when you want to play, simply toggle the Party Finder option.

Avoiding a Player

Finally, after many years, we now have the chance to dodge players the right way. We all had that one guy who ruined several games in a row for us, just because we are on the same team. Well, this will now be in the past.

MVP Vote

You can now vote for the MVP of your game. The chosen player will be featured in the post-game screen, receive a mention on their friend feed and be recognized during the pre-game of the next match. As soon as you get enough MVPs, you will get Battle Points.

Versus Screen

You can now show off your skills even before heading to the lanes. Recent performance, Battle Pass Levels and Dota Plus Hero Stats, and cosmetics all increase the chance of appearing on the screen.

Assistant Features

Dota 2 Assistant Features

This includes various small things that can improve your gameplay.

The first assist is related to picking a certain hero. You can now see how a certain hero will perform against the one selected by the enemy.

You can now stack more quickly because you have a timer in each camp.

No idea where to place a ward? No worries! There is guidance on that too.

Damage Summary is also added, which allows you to track how much damage have you received.

Chat wheel emoticons are added too.

Avatar Banner & High Five

These are some small tweaks that will make the game more enjoyable. Just throw your hand in the air if you see a teammate or an enemy that did the same.

Returning Features

The first one is Rank Double Down. You can double the MMR gain or loss once per week. The higher Battle Pass level you get, the more chances you receive to do this.

You can now also recycle any of the Immortals you receive. By doing this, you will get an unopened Immortal treasure plus an extra spin for Rylai’s Battle Blessing. There are other returning features too, so make sure to read them here.

Rewards

Immortals

Three immortal treasures will be available. For now, we only know the first one. You can check all the immortals by watching the video below.

New Terrain

The Overgrown Empire will feature new soundscape and dynamic water effects.

Tiny Prestige Item

To get it, you will need to have a level 255 Battle Pass. In addition, as soon as you hit level 425, you will also get an Immortal set for Axe. Basically, Axe becomes nearly naked and punches enemies with his fists. These items won’t be purchasable or marketable, so get them while you can.

Hero Persona

The first ever Hero Persona has been added. It includes different visual effects and thematic take on a classic hero. Invoker is the chosen one for this year. However, to get it, you need level 305.

ES Arcana – Planetfall

The new arcana looks pretty good. In order to get it, you need level 365.

Collector’s Rewards

Once you hit level 1000, you will be able to obtain the Aegis. However, if you are a true baller, get to 2000 and receive a Baby Roshan.

Conclusion

There are many other small additions such as Seasonal Chat Wheel Sounds for example. All of the new features can be found here.
