Dota 2: Three Broken Builds To Use in 7.33c

Here are some of the most broken builds you can use in 7.33c.

We are days away from the end of the ESL One Berlin Major 2023, which is the second big DPC event and the first tournament to be fully played on The New Frontiers Update. In case you have missed out, this patch changed everything we know about the game because there were tons of hero changes, as well as a variety of other things.

After a couple of days, Valve decided to release 7.33c, which brought the much-needed balance changes in Dota 2. However, there are a couple of heroes that are much stronger than the rest, and in this article, we will take a look at the four broken builds in 7.33c you should focus on.

While talking about heroes, don’t forget to check the 4 heroes that have the highest win rate in patch 7.33c so far because some of them will be on this list.

Abaddon as a carry

People who’re wondering how to play Dota 2 will go through all of the heroes in the game and see that some of them can only work in a specific role. However, there are also Dota 2 heroes who can fit into multiple roles, and Abaddon is among them.

While it is true that this hero was never that popular among professional players, it has a lot of fans in PUBs. Abaddon was a solid option in the last meta, but the recent changes made the hero even more appealing. As expected, this had an effect on his popularity, which is why some people came with a broken build to use in patch 7.33c.

The main reason why this hero is good right now is because of his ultimate and the fact it allows him to do “burn” damage. When used in conjunction with Aghanim’s Scepter and Radiance, Abaddon deals soo much damage per second that he and his team can easily win a team fight.

An important thing to keep in mind is that Abaddon is a universal hero, meaning that there are all sorts of item builds you can go for. One includes Blink and Manta Style, allowing you to burst supports much faster than before.

Abaddon is not the fastest farmer in the world, but once he gets Radiance, things change. Speaking of this Dota 2 item, you should try to get it as soon as possible because it will increase your farming speed dramatically.

Medusa in the offlane/safelane

If you take a look at the Reddit Dota 2 section or decide to learn more about the hottest Dota 2 heroes right now, you will find Medusa. The latter is the hero with the highest win rate in the game, which is more than 60%. This is impressive, to say the least, and it explains why you can find her in almost every game.

Medusa was one of the heroes that got tons of changes in the Dota 2 patch 7.33. The New Frontiers Update changed a lot of things about her, but the changes were not that positive. However, now that 7.33c had arrived, she quickly became the go-to option.

Usually, Medusa is a Dota 2 hero that is a top-tier midder/safe lane carry and can also work really well in the offlane. We have seen her in action a couple of times, including during the ESL One Berlin Major 2023 in the hands of Tundra’s offlaner 33.

What’s interesting is that the player’s first item as an offlane Medusa was Phylactery. Even though it doesn’t seem that useful, this item allowed him to nuke his enemies with Mystic Snake even more. Besides farming faster, he was able to use it to secure kills.

Aside from this item, 33 also decided to get an Aghanim’s Scepter, a Shard, Octarine Core, and Veil. All of these items might seem weird, but 33 was undeniably the star of the show and easily ripped through his opponents.

Nyx Assassin

Nyx Assassin is one of the most interesting Dota 2 heroes of Patch 7.33c. If you look at the Dota 2 rankings or some of the Dota 2 wiki chats, you can see that many people mention him because of the new item build. To be honest, we are not that surprised that he is so popular because The New Frontiers Update changed a lot of things about him.

When talking about Nyx in the new meta, there are a couple of interesting drafts you can go for. The first one is the classic Dagon build that people have been using for years. Since this item got buffed, it is even better now and makes Nyx much more effective.

However, most people prefer the new physical damage item built that allows them to easily carry their teammates to victory. The idea behind this item broken item built in 7.33c is to burst enemy heroes as fast as possible. To do that, players usually go for Power Treads, followed by Echo Blade and Desolator. These 3 items alone are extremely powerful and can one-shot most enemies. Of course, the hero needs to max his Q and Mana burn in order to be even more effective.

Following these 3 items, most people go for Daedalus and/or MKB, depending on the matchup. Although this makes Nyx feel like a “glass cannon” hero, people can use it to carry themselves out of the lower MMR brackets.

Conclusion

The New Frontiers Update has been out for a couple of weeks now, which means that we are yet to learn about some of the hottest items built out there. So, make sure to check the Dota 2 Liquipedia, as well as our website, for more information about everything new.
