Apart from the fact that the ultimate is just too strong, Lycan is also capable of farming really fast. That’s another reason why he just excels in the current meta. Nonetheless, the hero wouldn’t have been so successful if people didn’t buy the right items.

So, without further ado, here are some of the best items that you can get for Lycan right now.

Necronomicon

This is without a doubt the most popular item that you can get for Lycan. What’s interesting about Necronomicon is that it consists of three levels. What this means is that you can get the first one really early on, and use the minions to push the tower or chase someone.

However, the fun with this item really starts whenever you upgrade it to level 3. Once that happens and you buff everyone with Howl, you and your minions will do so much damage that you can literally kill any hero on the map in just a couple of seconds.

That said, getting this item to level 3 is a little bit expensive, so keep that in mind. However, if you manage to get some early kills, you can get it pretty early on, which will make you the strongest hero in the game.

Helm of the Dominator

The second item that’s really popular for Lycan is Hel of the Dominator. It is fairly inexpensive, which means that you can get early on. As a result, you will be able to push even faster, especially if you get a good neutral creep.

Apart from giving you control over a unit, this item also provides decent stats. Needless to say, this is always a plus.

Assault Cuirass

This is one of the strongest items in Dota 2, although many people tend to underestimate it. During the later stages of the game, armor becomes the most desired stat because it reduces a lot of the incoming damage.

However, sometimes, it might be better to ask your offlaner to get this item. Although it also provides decent stats, in most cases, it’s just not worth spending that gold because you can get a more damage-focused item instead.
