The CIS Dota 2 scene has always been one of the most interesting to watch. One of the main reasons for this is the fact that each team is so unique. Having said that, the roster of Team Spirit used to be one of the most promising ones because it featured some of the biggest names in the CIS region. Unfortunately, Illidan and Co. were unable to utilize their full potential.
Today unfortunately we say farewell to our current Dota2 roster: @IllidanSTRdoto, @GTHEMALL, @BZZZisperfect, @velheordota, @VANSKORdota.
We want to thank them for their hard work and wish them the best in their future gaming careers.#SpiritDota2 #Dota2 pic.twitter.com/859vI0SLbU

The International 9 Qualifiers
Apart from not qualifying for pretty much any notable event, they also crumbled at TI 9 qualifiers. Many people expected them to at least reach the playoffs but even that did not happen. Instead, Team Spirit finished last in their group with only a single win. It is important to remember that the previous name of this team was Old But Gold. In fact, Team Spirit acquired them just before the start of the TI qualifiers.
However, considering their poor results, the step taken by the organization was definitely expected.
Conclusion
The International 2019 is slowly approaching and we can’t wait to watch!
