Dota 2: PSG.LGD Eliminated in the Open Qualifiers

A shock elimination for PSG.LGD at today's open qualifiers for the next DPC Major in Leipzig.

After the dust from the MDL Chengdu Major has settled, it’s time to focus on the qualifiers for the second row of DPC tournaments. Unlike the previous one, nearly all top teams will take part in it, except for OG. Instead their new squad, OG Seed, will be representing the organization.

PSG.LGD

One of the new names in these qualifiers is PSG.LGD. The Chinese powerhouse has proved itself as one of the best teams in the world in the last couple of years. Even though they were considered the favorites to beat OG back in the TI 8 Grand Final, they couldn’t deliver a knock-out punch, letting the trophy slip their fingers. Nearly the same happened in TI 9, this time though, they’ve finished third.

Unlike previous years, the 2019-2020 DPC season didn’t begin as planned. Unfortunately, Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao and his team-mates won’t be appearing at the Leipzig Major thanks to their elimination in the Open Qualifiers.

No doubt a shock for their fans, but we can’t say it was completely unexpected. After all, the Outlanders Update completely changed Dota 2.

Unfortunately, there won’t be a second chance for the Chinese team. This means that we might seem them in action for the third Major. Hopefully, Team Secret and Nigma will (ex Team Liquid) will be able to make it to Leipzig.
