Dota 2 News: TI Champions OG Parts Ways With iLTW

Just a few days after another disappointing performance at the StarLadder ImbaTV Minor, the current TI champion OG decided to part ways with their young CIS carry player Igor “iLTW” Filatow.

“I want to thank OG for the opportunity they gave me these past few months. It’s been a great experience and I learned so much. Thanks to Johan, Seb, Jesse and Topias for being such great teammates and Titouan and Oliver for their support. I wish you guys all the best!” – said Igor in his statement.

According to OG, the current DPC season has put them on a timer and so far they are not achieving the results they`d want. ILTW joined the team just a few months ago and he took part in four events. OG’s best performance yet was in ESL One Katowice where they finished third. Sadly, it was not a DPC event so they did not get any DPC points.

What happened?

Since the amazing TI 8 run, OG decided to take a pretty long break. This was probably their biggest mistake because in modern-day Dota, as you just can’t afford to take too much time off. Ana also had a crucial role in OG’s “demise”. Even though the European team won TI mainly due to their team efforts, Ana was the guy that stood out the most especially in the most important games. The talented Australian prodigy seemingly needed some time off in order to resolve some personal matters.

It will be interesting to see who will fill in for iLTW. Can Ana make a return or are we going to see some other big name?
