We take a look at what's new with Neon, including the latest player joining the team's roster.
Neon Esports have exploded in popularity recently, thanks to the team's top six finish at the ONE Esports Dota 2 SEA League. However, it seems like sixth is not enough for Neon, which is why they’ve decided to make a roster change.
What’s new?
One of the oldest team members Rafael “Rappy” Sicat Palo will leave the team after spending over 2 years. In an official announcement by the organization, Neon Esports said that he is departing the team after playing over 1000 games with Neon. “.. we certainly would not be where we are today without his skill and experience”.
(1/2) Today we say goodbye to a true hero of Neon Esports; Rafael Sicat ‘Rappy’ Palo is departing the team. Since his debut in 2018 Rappy has played over 1000 games for Neon and we certainly would not be where we are today without his skill and experience. pic.twitter.com/2J92fMewiv

Fans of Neon probably remember that Rappy joined the team in 2018. Even though he wasn’t that good in the beginning, he slowly became one of the best players in the team. Thanks to him, the SEA squad got a top-four finish at the BTS Pro Series Season 2, as well as many other events.
However, it seems like the team needed a change in order to reach further heights. As a result, they’ve introduced the former TNC Predator player – Samson Solomon “Sam_H” Hidalgo. Hopefully, this will be enough to make Neon Esports one of the strongest teams in the region.
Here's what the team's roster looks like after the changes:
- Rolen Andrei Gabriel “skem” Ong
- Erin Jasper “Yopaj” Ferrer
- Samson Solomon “Sam_H” Hidalgo
- Prieme Ejay “PlayHard” Banquil
- Jaunuel “Jaunuel” Arcilla
