EG have completed their roster with exciting new signings.
After Evil Geniuses parted ways with their captain Tal “Fly” Aizik and Daryl Koh “iceiceice” Pei Xiang, the fans were dwelling on the next additions. The North American side has landed one of the best players to fill the gaps in the team.
It is finally time.
Introducing Jesse @iamJERAX Vainikka and Egor @Nightfall_dota Grigorenko as the newest members of #EGDOTA.

After retiring from competitive Dota, Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka has returned to the scene in new colors. He will now play as a hard support instead of Position-4. This change will be very interesting to see as Jesse is popular with roaming and playmaking supports like Earth Spirit, Tusk, and Rubick.
EG’s Dota 2 Head Coach, Sam “Bulba” Sosale expressed his thoughts on Jesse, “Everyone is looking forward to playing with Jesse. He has a lot of great ideas about dota and how he approaches the game. The entire team is excited to have him join us and we cannot wait to get started and show the fans our potential.”
What’s even more intriguing is the addition of Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko as a Position-3 player for EG. We associate Nightfall with his incredible farming and carrying skills. However, with Artour “Arteezy” Babaev occupying that role, Egor will transition to offlane. We have seen Position-1 players switch to the offlane role before. It is one of the more natural transitions, as carry players face the offlaners and know the ins and outs of that role.
Arteezy had a few words to say about Nightfall’s move. “This roster change to me is really exciting. I like the idea of a carry switching to the offlane as these two roles often interact the most, and both Jerax and Nightfall have a lot of fresh air and tactical strategy to bring to the team.”
EG’s roster for the upcoming season:
- Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
- Abed “Abed” Yusop
- Egor “Nightfall” Grigorenko
- Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
- Jesse “JerAx” Vainikka
- Sam “Bulba” Sosale (Coach)
