Grimstroke – Stun Multiple Enemies with Ink Swell
Grimstroke is an Intelligence hero who can silence enemy heroes and stun his opponents with his skills. The ranged hero can nuke enemy creeps and enemy heroes to drain their health in lanes and prevent them from farming gold in Dota 2 matches.
The support hero has a maximum range of 600 on his physical attacks. The extended range of his physical hits lets Grimstroke deny creeps in his lane. Denying creeps can frustrate enemy heroes, making them cast spells to counter Grimstroke during battles.
Grimstroke can purchase a Magic Wand to help him cast his spells consistently in a lane. Magic Wand can be bought for 450 gold, letting most players equip it from the beginning of a match. The Intelligence hero gains 3 Intelligence, 3 Strength, and 3 Agility by purchasing a Magic Wand. You can restore up to 15 health and mana instantly to Grimstroke using a Magic Wand in team fights.
Magic Wand gains a charge every time an enemy hero uses an ability around Grimstroke in a radius of 1200. The item can gain up to a maximum of 20 charges, making a Magic Wand highly effective for Grimstroke against other Intelligence heroes who can nuke their opponents in Dota 2. You can upgrade a Magic Wand to Holy Locket to increase the health of Grimstroke by 250 and increase his mana pool by 300.
Grimstroke can head to the off lane to help carry heroes earn more gold. You can use the ranged attacks from Grimstroke to punish enemy heroes in the off lane, preventing them from farming their core items early in Dota 2 matches. You can purchase a Null Talisman and have it delivered by a courier to the off lane to gain more mana for Grimstroke.
Items like a Null Talisman and a Magic Wand will allow Grimstroke to cast Ink Swell several times to stun enemy heroes before taking down the first enemy tower in the off lane. Ink Swell can be used on an allied unit by Grimstroke to stun enemy heroes around the targeted ally for 1.1 seconds at level one.
Allies who have Ink Swell cast on them at the start of a game by Grimstroke gain a 12% increase in their movement speed. Grimstroke has a cast range of 400 for Ink Swell, providing him plenty of distance to use the ability on allies. Enemy units hit by Ink Swell take up to 90 damage with one level of the spell.
You can max out Ink Swell to cast the ability on allied units who are up to 775 distance away from Grimstroke. Ink Swell can deal up to 360 damage to all enemy units around an ally in a radius of 375 at level 4. Enemy units affected by level 4 of Ink Swell can be stunned for 3.5 seconds.

The ranged hero can cast Stroke of Fate to deal a base damage of 280 to all enemy units in a distance of 1400. The increased cast range of Stroke of Fate enables Grimstroke to hit multiple enemy heroes with minimal effort in Dota 2. Stroke of Fate deals an additional 50 damage per enemy unit it comes in contact with. Enemy units affected by Stroke of Fate have their movement speed slowed by 80% for 1.8 seconds. Stroke of Fate has a cooldown of 5 seconds and requires 130 mana
per cast.
Grimstroke can use Phantom’s Embrace to silence an enemy unit. Phantom’s Embrace latches onto an enemy unit, preventing them from using any of their spells for 5 seconds. Enemy units affected by Phantom’s Embrace take up to 40 damage per second (DPS) and an additional 360 damage at the end of the duration. Phantom’s Embrace can be destroyed by using physical attacks. Grimstroke can cast Phantom’s Embrace once every 18 seconds and needs 140 mana to use it on an
enemy unit.
The Intelligence hero can cast his ulti, Soulbind, to tie 2 enemy heroes together for up to 8 seconds. Any spell cast on either of the 2 bound heroes is cast on the other hero as well while Soulbind is active. Grimstroke’s ulti has a cooldown of 50 seconds and consumes 250 mana.
You can use Soulbind to prevent enemy heroes from fleeing battles. Grimstroke can use Ink Swell on allies who enter combat to stun enemies around them for easy assists in the game.
