Dota 2: Format and Groups of the WePlay! Bukovel Minor

The groups and format have just been announced for WePlay!’s Bukovel Minor.

After the dust has settled from the intense qualifiers, the pro teams are slowly preparing for Christmas. With no big tournaments on the radar for December, they can take start preparing for 2020. As you know, the first big tournament of the year will be WePlay!’s Bukovel Minor.

Starting from the 9th of January, eight of the best teams in the world will be fighting for that $300K prize pool, as well as a place in the Leipzig Major, which starts in just a couple of days after.

Yesterday, the tournament organizers revealed that you can go and watch absolutely for free. Just one day after this announcement, they also released the entire schedule for the Minor.

Without further ado, here are the two groups.

Group A

The teams here are Ninjas in Pyjamas, Team Spirit, Geek Fam, and Royal Never Give Up. At first glance, it seems like RNGU and NiP will have a pretty easy time. However, this is very unlikely because both TS and Geek Fam is very dangerous. In fact, this is probably the group where every single team can beat the others.

Group B

Fighting PandaS, Gambit Esports, FURIA Esports and Nigma will have to fight here.

We can safely say that Nigma are the biggest favorite. TI 9 runners up will make their debut on the big stage after missing out on the first DPC tournaments. It seems like their time off affected them because they were unable to qualify for the Leipzig Major. Despite that, Nigma eventually made their way to the Minor, which gives them another chance to shine.
The other very dangerous teams here are Fighting PandaS and Gambit. Even though they didn’t make it to the Major, they are still one of the best in their regions. This will make the clash between them extremely interesting to watch.

Similar to any other Minor out there, every single match in the Group will be Bo3. We will also have a double-elimination bracket (Bo3) and a best-of-five Grand Final.

Be sure to follow us on our social media for more information about the Minor soon.
