Dota 2: Evil Geniuses Adds GPK For The OMEGA League

Gpk will be a stand-in for EG for the upcoming event.

Evil Geniuses is one of the best teams in the world, especially in the last few months. Even though the team is based in NA, they’ve decided to take part in Europe and CIS Immortal division of the OMEGA League.

Unfortunately, the entire situation with COVID-19 didn’t allow the North American powerhouse to play properly with their mid laner; Abed Yusop, although he is one of the best players in the world. The talented SEA player is stuck in the Philippines, which doesn’t allow him to be as useful in the online tournaments due to ping.

That’s why EG decided to make a change for the upcoming tournament. The OMEGA League is going to be the biggest online event of the year. Despite the fact it’s online, it will bring together the best teams in Europe and CIS. And they'll be fighting for a prize pool of $500K USD.

EG add GPK

Abed’s position will be taken by the CIS prodigy Danil “gpk” Skutin. He's mostly known for his contribution to Gambit Esports, one of the best teams in the CIS region. Even though there was an official statement from Gambit about the swap, EG hasn’t really said anything about it yet.

Don’t forget the North American titans are playing in Group A of the Immortal division. There, they'll have to fight against the likes of Alliance, Nigma, VP, Na’Vi, and 5men. Although EG and Alliance might seem like the favorites, every single team could be a potential winner which means that it’s going to be really interesting to see how this event plays out.

Here's EG's roster for the upcoming event:

  • Artour “Arteezy” Babaev
  • Danil “gpk” Skutin
  • Roman “RAMZES666” Kushnarev
  • Andreas “Cr1t-” Nielsen
  • Tal “Fly” Aizik
