Dota 2: ESL One Thailand 2020 Was Just Announced

It seems like this summer is going to be amazing for every Dota 2 fan.
July is not really the most active month of the year when it comes down to Dota 2. Even though we won’t see TI 10 anytime soon, most of the top teams decided to take a break. However, it seems like everyone will be back in August, and we'll have loads of amazing tournaments to watch.
The latest addition to the squad is ESL’s signature “ESL ONE” event series. This time, it’s called ESL One Thailand and it will gather some of the best teams from China, North America, Southeast Asia, and South America. However, due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, the event will once again take place online.

We will see twelve teams in total, which will be split into two divisions. The first is the “Asia division” and it will include the teams from China and SEA. These series will take place between the August 20 and September 6.
The total prize pool here is $135K USD and we will see twelve teams fighting for their share. However, eight of them will be directly invited, whereas the other four will have to survive the deadly qualifiers.
Apart from SEA and China, Thailand will also have two representatives, which should be pretty interesting. Even though Thailand is not the strongest SEA country when it comes down to Dota 2, this game has been flourishing there in the last couple of months. After the open qualifiers, the Chinese closed quals will take place from August 17-19. There will be four teams there, but only two of them will go to the actual event.
Americas Division
As we mentioned, the event will also have a few representatives from North and South America. These two regions have always been really interesting to watch because the teams there are unpredictable.
ESL decided to include eight teams from these two regions. They will compete for the $65K USD prize pool, which is considerably less than what you get in Asia.
Six out of those eight teams will receive a direct invitation, whereas the other two will have to secure their spot via the closed qualifiers. If you want to see what will happen, be sure to watch them between the July 31 and August 2.
