Dota 2: ESL One Mumbai – Closed Qualifier Invites Announced

One of the biggest esports events that will take place this year in India will be the ESL One Mumbai. The tournament will have a lucrative $300,000 prize pool as well as one of the best teams playing.

ESL One Mumbai will be India’s biggest Dota 2 event so far, even surpassing DreamHack Mumbai, which took place last year. If you want to attend it live, make sure to go to the NSCCI Dome from April 19-21.

The open qualifiers will be Bo1 until the decider matches, which will be Bo3. Two of the finalists will be going to the closed qualifiers, where they`ll be four teams (two directly invited and two from the Open qualifiers). All games there are Bo3 up to the final, where it’s Bo5 with a 1-0 advantage for the team coming from the Upper Bracket.

Direct Qualifier Invites

Europe

As it was expected, Natus Vincere and Alliance have received the invitations. The two ex Dota titans will have to prove themselves before going to the event. They’ve gone through many changes in the last year. Na’Vi event parted ways with their long-term iconic Mid-laner Dendi.

North America

J.storm and Team Team are the American invites. J.Storm will definitely be one of the most exciting teams to watch. Hopefully this time they`ll be able to get further in the event compared to the Chongqing Major.

China

China’s direct invites are going to Keen Gaming, and Royal Never Give Up. Keen gaming started their professional path very strongly and was even considered to be one of the most promising Chinese teams. However, they couldn’t live up to the expectations. ESL One Mumbai could be their “reincarnation place” if they perform well enough.

SEA

The second strongest team from the region will also try their luck. TNC Predator did OK in the Chongqing Major, for the most part; however, they were “fortunate” enough to face Team Liquid in the Lower Bracket. The other direct invite from the region is Lotac.

India

Since the tournament will be held in India, we`ll also see some of the best Indian Dota teams in action. Probably the most “notable” one is ROG TiTans.
