Dota 2: EG, Fighting Pepegas and J.Storm are going to MDL Chengdu

The North American Qualifier for the first DPC tournament of the season has come to an end. We saw tons of back-and-forth series but in the end, only the best teams from the region prevailed.

Artour “Arteezy” Babaev and his teammates have been the most dominating team in the region. They proved this yet again after finishing first in their group. However, they had a very tough enemy to face in the semifinals – Quincy Crew. The newly formed team around Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan played well so far and posed a real challenge for EG. Despite that, The International 5 champs were able to take the series with a 2-1 score.

With their backs against the wall, Quincy Crew had one last chance for MDL Chengdu. The next opposition ahead of them was J.Storm, which lost to Fighting Pepegas early on.

On paper, Sumail and his team were definitely the favorites. However, it seems like J.Storm did their homework as they were very prepared for this fight. In fact, they completely outplayed their enemies in both games and gave them no chances whatsoever.

The last team that will go to China is Fighting Pepegas. Guided by Jacky” EternalEnvy” Mao, the Canadian team was able to qualify pretty easily. This is the second event/qualifiers where they performed very well, which is a likely sign that they will be one of the strongest teams from NA this season.
