Dota 2: China Dota 2 Professional League Season 1 Week 7 Recap

We take a look at what's been happening in Week 7 of the China Dota 2 Professional League Season 1.

There is no arguing that the DPC tournaments are the most interesting to watch. After all, these tournaments have the biggest prize pools, as well as the best teams in the world. However, there are also a couple of non-DPC tournaments that are definitely worth watching. One of them is the China Dota 2 Pro League. Unlike other events, this is an entire league, which means that it takes a long time to end.

In this case, the league began in early October and it will end somewhere in March. There are ten teams playing here in total, eight of which are directly invited. Needless to say, the winner will become one of the best teams in China. Apart from fame and glory, the teams are also playing for the sweet $200k+ USD prize pool.

With that said, let’s take a look at what happened in the 7th week of this awesome tournament.

PSG.LGD is back

Despite their recent abysmal performance, the TI 8 runners-up played some pretty good series in the last couple of days. In fact, they had little to no issues when they faced Typhn and iG. However, Vici Gaming proved to be a little bit too much for Lu “Somnus丶M” Yao and Co. Even though they removed Vici’s strongest weapon in the face of the Drow Ranger, it was just not enough to bring them down. Then again, this was expected, considering the current form of Vici.

Despite the loss, these couple of series were a clear sign that LGD is slowly coming back. This happens just in time for the third set of DPC qualifiers that will begin somewhere in February. Right now, the Chinese powerhouse is sitting in first place with 15 wins and 4 losses.

Vici Gaming is the best Chinese team

Even though everyone knew this, it’s safe to say that Vici is now the best team in their country. Their most recent performance has been absolutely mind-blowing. After winning the ONE Esports Dota 2 World Pro Invitational, the Chinese powerhouse didn’t drop a single game in their run at this event. In fact, they’ve absolutely demolished every single opponent they had to face.

Their main weapon in the entire event was Drow Ranger, one of the buffed heroes in 7.23. Using her pushing powers, Zhang “Eurus” Chengjun and Co. had little to no trouble ripping through everyone.

Even though Vici won every single series, they are still second in the overall raking here. That’s due to the amazing results from PSG from October and November of 2019.

Be sure to watch the games again tomorrow when it resumes! We have a couple of very interesting series that you definitely won’t want to miss. If you’re interested in finding out what will happen, simply visit the BTS Twitch channel.

Just one day after the Chinese Dota 2 Professional League Season 1 is over, the WePlay! Bukovel Minor begins. It will gather eight of the best teams in the world, which makes it a must-watch.
