After a couple of days of epic action, we now know all of the teams that will try their luck at the first Major of this DPC – MDL Chengdu. Most of the teams that made it was expected to do so. However, there are are also a couple of surprises.
Let’s take a look at all of them.
North America
The boys in blue are going to MDL Chengdu Major. Congratulations @EvilGeniuses !

Teams Attending: Evil Geniuses, J.Storm, Fighting Pepegas.
As you can see, there were not that many surprises here. However, one team was expected to be among those mentioned above – Quincy Crew. The newly formed squad that has the likes of Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan in their roster was unable to stand their ground against EG and J.Storm. Now, they have to earn their spot at the Summit 11, which is the first Minor of this DPC.

One of the biggest upsets here is the absence of paiN Gaming. They used to be one of the best SA teams but after a series of roster changes, things went downhill. Hopefully, they will be able to resolve their issues for the next Major.
Europe
Thanks to all our #ALLfam fans and and to @MonsterGaming and @TeamRazer for your support during this shuffle, we will make you proud at the major!💚#LongLiveAlliance #MDLChengdu pic.twitter.com/UGRPltEWzL
— Alliance 🎇 (@theAllianceGG) October 8, 2019
Teams Attending: Team Liquid, Alliance.
As you know, the best European teams did not take part in these qualifiers. Instead, they decided to take a long break in order to recover from TI 9. That said, this was amazing news for the other teams. As expected, Alliance and TL dominated both groups and the playoffs as well. The only upset here is the absence of NiP but they were unable to deal with Team Liquid in the last match of the qualifiers.
CIS
19 wins and 2 losses in official games thus far, qualified for ESL One Hamburg and MDL Chengdu Major 🔥 #TornadoEnergy pic.twitter.com/7VLCUXNS5z

Teams Attending: Gambit Esports, Positive Guys
This was without a doubt the region where everything went wrong. For the first time in months, Virtus.Pro did not dominate the qualifiers here. Sadly, the CIS Powerhouse will be missing the first Major of the new DPC.
However, they won't be alone in these hard times. Joining them is yet another CIS legend – Na’Vi.
China

2:0 against Look For Smile in the MDL Chengdu China Qualifiers today. We're slotted for Semi-Finals starting tomorrow!#VGFighting pic.twitter.com/zfY6jeyWC3— VICI Gaming (@VICI) October 6, 2019
Teams Attending: Vici Gaming, EHOME, Team Aster
This was one of the most competitive regions in these qualifiers. Despite that, the “usual suspects” made it till the end. It’s just kind of sad that Royal Never Give Up was unable to make it to the Major. They definitely deserved it because they played very well.
SEA
Team Adroit gave us one hell of a fight at the #MDL Chengdu Major SEA Qualifier – but the boys prevailed and secured our slot! Check out our best plays from the series!

Teams Attending: Fnatic, TNC Predator, Team Adroit
Even though many people were not expecting it, Team Adroit played absolutely amazing. That said, everyone expected Fnatic and TNC to make it because they are just the best teams from this region right now.
