Devil May Cry: Peak of Combat introduced a character sitch mechanic into the DMC franchise. We’ll be looking into the best teams that will allow for the flashiest combos
Devil May Cry (DMC): Peak of Combat takes a new take on the classic DMC formula by introducing character switching. It replaces the weapon’s switching mechanic that is present in the mainline games. Character switching, therefore, introduces teams of characters you can build to take on the devils from the underworld.
The teams heavily influence your playstyle in the game. Each team can be built to fit a particular play style. We will be looking into a few teams focusing on a particular character that can give you amazing results in-game.
The Best Teams in DMC: Peak of Combat
The teams will focus on one main and two support characters. The teammates function in harmony with each other and cause the most damage and stylish combos.

If you want to burn your enemies to a crisp and want your favorite pizza-eating demon slayer to do so, use this team. Fists of Salvation Dante is a fighter with long, fiery punches and kicks. He does a massive amount of fire damage to his enemies. His attacks do long-range damage and have long combos. Additionally, his ultimate launches enemies in the air.
This allows his teammates to capitalize on the enemies in the air. Both Spark Ignitor Lady and Devil Bringer Nero are perfect for this.
Lady can use her guns to volley the flying enemies. She can also do a huge area of effect (AOE) damage using her damage which can add to the chaos.
Nero can launch himself in the air and pull enemies towards him to start to combo on his enemies. His exceed do additional fire damage causing enemies to melt under this team’s onslaught.

Frost Grace Lady is one of the most agile fighters in the game. She can zip around from one point to another while constantly doing ice damage to her enemies. Not only can her attacks slow down enemies but she helps to recharge her team’s ultimates. This alone allows her to have multiple team compositions.
One Man Show Dante goes perfectly with this version of Lady. The slowed enemies are easily taken down by the electrifying guitarist. He also has excellent elemental compatibility allowing for stronger attacks. His ultimate does a large AOE and is perfect for the slowed enemies.
Vergil is equally useful because of this. His ultimate Judgement Cut End damages every enemy in the area and causes them to bleed. Vergil can also land more of regular Judgement Cuts because of the slower enemies. Vergil can also zip around an arena like Lady which gives him additional versatility when playing with the weapon’s master.

Nero is at his best when he is teamed up with himself… and his uncle. When Nero character switches into himself it feels like Nero has his entire kit unlocked. Most characters can do well on their own, especially, Endless Judgement Vergil. Nero, however, feels like a complete character when he is combined with himself. The two combine to make him feel like the Nero we knew in Devil May Cry 4.
The young Demon hunter does massive fire damage due to his exceed. It constantly boosts his sword attacks to do massive fire damage. His Devil Bringer constantly brings enemies in close range to allow massive hits to be done. Devil Bringer combined with the Knight of Order allows Nero to use his gun in combat as well. HIs charged shots make a return which does heavy damage to enemies and melts through armour.
Adding Dante to this mix gives Nero a huge advantage. Fists of Salvation Dante is also a fire type that allows constant fire damage to be dealt to enemies. On top of that, Dante has long-range attacks that can work in harmony with Nero’s powers. His Devil Trigger boosts the fire attacks further enabling explosive combos to be done.
Vergil
- Endless Judgement Vergil
Type: Physical
QTE: Floating Shadow Strike
Style Skill: Storm Swords and Spirl Swords
Ultimate: Judgement Cut End
- Devil Crusher Vergil
Type: Physical
QTE: Rising Dragon and Lunar Phase
Style Skill: Heavy Rain Swords
Ultimate: Hell on Earth
- Devil Hunter Dante
Type: Physical
QTE: Grand Slam
Style Skill: Stinger
Ultimate: Devil Trigger
Vergil is undoubtedly one of the stronger characters in the game. He is the character with the most versatile move set that allows him to do sick combos. Vergil does damage to everyone around him with some of the best Style Skills in the game. Yes, he gets two. Why? Because he’s Vergil.
Additionally, he can cause all the enemies in the arena to bleed with a single attack. Vergil is best played with like Nero, himself. Devil Crusher Vergil equips his Beowulf which allows him to do all his sick moves from the special edition Devil May Cry games he is a part of. Vergil can blitz every enemy that is near him with his endless onslaught of kicks and punches.
Vergil is only enriched with his twin Dante. The two of them make an amazing physical duo and can constantly attack their enemies with a large range of attacks. Dante and Vergil are the ultimate tag team in all video games and they keep that true in this game as well.
Conclusion
DMC Peak of Combat allows multiple combinations of teams. Players can create their own teams and figure out what fits their playstyle. The teams we recommend are what we found to work best in the game due to how strong they are. These teams are also very varied and can fit many types of playstyles whether it be calculative or just endless button mashing.
