CSGO News: Smooya Banned from FACEIT Pro League

According to a report from Dextero.com, Owen “smooya” Butterfield has been banned from FACEIT Pro League indefinitely after and interaction with Optic Gaming’s Ismail “refrezh” Ali, in which Smooya told the player to “kill himself” in now-deleted tweets.

Butterfield has had a troubled CS:GO career, recently leaving BIG citing difficulties fitting into their team system. Prior to that, he experienced seriously difficulties with Team Epsilon regarding his contract and buyout.

After Smooya’s departure from BIG and his indefinite ban from FACEIT Pro League, his future is uncertain. Prior reports state that he was targeting North American teams, but with a ban from Pro League it is unclear if any teams would want to risk picking him up.

Smooya had also been recently connected to Denial Esport's new roster. Denial has not commented on Butterfield's banning as of yet.
