Cloud9 Overhaul Continues
Cloud9 is reportedly in talks with René “cajunb” Borg to replace rifler Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey according to a report from Dexerto.
North American organization Cloud9 is eyeing Danish Rifler and former OpTic Gaming Pro René “cajunb” Borg as a replacement for Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey, per a report from Dexerto. Surprisingly, the report states that Cloud9 is not looking to trial Borg, but sign him outright to a permanent deal. Cajunb is coming off a year-long stint with OpTic Gaming. OpTic released Borg at the end of his contract on the 28th of March.
The rumors come just hours after Cloud9 released Fabien “kioShiMa” Fiey after only six months with the team. Rumors have persisted for months that kioShiMa was on the way out. Cloud9 announced Fiey's release on their website. For his part, Fiey had this to say on his time with the North American Counterstrike organization:
“I really appreciate Cloud9 giving me the opportunity to play professional CSGO again. I'm looking forward to what's next for me in my career and I wish Cloud9 the best.” — Fabien kioShiMa Fiey
On the other hand, KioShiMa also seemed to indicate that his release was a direct result of the other players on the team in a tweet this morning:
For people wondering, the org don’t always agree with the players choices. It’s a tough position to be in for the org when the players have too much power.

Just in time for Blast
The report also indicated that the move, should it go through, is integral to the team's plans for Blast Pro Series Miami. Cloud9 plans to field cajunb at the event. This means that Cloud9 could be tiring of the constant roster moves. Blast Pro Series features a novel six-team format filled with best of ones and a top prize of $125,000. The tournament takes place from April 12 to the 13th.
If Cloud9 picks up the Danish rifler, their roster will be as follows:
- Timothy “autimatic” Ta
- William “rush” Wierzba
- Maikil “Golden” Selim
- Daniel “vice” Kim (trial)
- René “cajunb” Borg
- Ronald “Rambo” Kim (coach)
