CS:GO: Natus Vincere Crushes G2 Esports to Win IEM Katowice 2020

Natus Vincere put on a clinic in the IEM Katowice finals.

Who could have expected such a pair in the grand-final of IEM Katowice? Astralis, Fnatic, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses and many more contenders have stayed away from the competition. In the final match, Na`Vi swept G2 with 3-0 score and zero chances for the Europeans.

The only map where G2 Esports made their presence was Dust2, where Nemanja “nexa” Isaković and his squad were able to win 13 rounds. Nuke and Mirage ended with 16-4 and 16-2 scores respectively.

In addition, Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov ended the first half of Nuke with a total of 28 kills, which is more than the whole G2 team came up with in the same half. He had an average of 26 kills altogether. On Mirage, Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy ended the first half of the map without a single death. The domination was real.

With that win, Natus Vincere earned $250,000 and are entered into the Intel Grand Slam S3 championship race.

Aleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev claimed the MVP award of IEM Katowice 2020. He ended the event with +119 kills/deaths difference and +21.4 average damage difference per round.
