CSGO: k0nfig Will Miss the Major Qualifier

An unfortunate injury has ruled k0nfig out of the Major Qualifier at IEM Road to Rio 2022.

Everyone knows that Astralis is one of the best CSGO teams in the world. With that said, the players will have to complete the upcoming Major Qualifier. The games for the IEM  Road to RIO 2022 will start a couple of weeks from now. Unfortunately, astralis won’t be able to rely on Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke because he is injured.

Who will fill in k0nfig absence?

The news that the 25-year-old CSGO player won’t be able to help his team will upset many fans. Sadly, no one can tell how long the player is away from the big scene. Since Astralis can’t rely on him, the team will play with Mikkel “MistR” Thomsen. 

Following the changes, Astral’s roster for the Europe RMR looks like this:

• Asger “Farling” Jensen
• Andreas “Xyp9x” Hojsleth
• Lukas “gla1ve”Rossander
• Benjamin “blameF” Bremer

MistR is a big name in the CSGO scene, especially in Denmark. He’s been a part of many top-tier teams, so Astralis shouldn’t have any problems relying on him when needed. This player was the team’s official substitute for the RMR tournament.

Even though MistR is an excellent player, the absence of k0nfig will be a problem for Astralis. The team will have to go up against many top-tier names in CSGO, such as FaZe, Cloud9, NiP, and more. Only 8 of them will go to IEM Rio, so Astralis will have to step up its game if it wants to be among them.

Conclusion

Some of the more experienced CSGO fans might remember that k0nfig had some problems in the past. This happened when he played for Complexity because there was a time when he was not available for around two months. 

We hope the player will be back as soon as possible because he had a key role in his team’s success throughout 2022. K0nfig is one of the players that can carry the game when needed, so Astralis will definitely have problems. However, the team has proven numerous times that it is among the best, so it should be able to succeed.
