CS:GO: IEM Katowice participants are finalized

After the prolonged hard battles of the qualifier tournaments, we now know all of the participants of IEM Katowice World Championship 2020.

Alongside the 3 teams that qualified for IEM Katowice through recent S-tier events and 7 invites. A few more spots were finalized in the regional qualifier events. MAD Lions, who stomped ENCE in the final match of the qualifier is the biggest surprise.

Our European qualifier was the toughest, with six top-30 teams participating. Though FaZe and G2 were the biggest favorites, it was not that easy for them to qualify through the upper bracket. Both qualifier matches were pretty close.

But the sensation is ENCE, who unexpectedly lost their lower bracket final to MAD Lions without a real fight: 7:16, 10:16.

Speaking of the North American qualifier, Cloud9 confidently overran all of their opponents to qualify for IEM Katowice. In the final match, C9 left no chances to MIBR, defeating them with a 3:1 score (1:0 upper bracket advantage, 13:16, 16:4, 16:12).

The Asian and Oceanic qualifiers both went how it was expected: Vici and Renegades, the biggest favorites in the regions, sailed through them.

With that said, the following 16 teams will fight for $500,000 USD from 25th of February to 1st of March in Katowice:

  • Mousesports
  • 100 Thieves
  • Renegades
  • Astralis

  • Na`Vi
  • Virtus.pro
  • Vitality
  • Liquid
  • EG
  • G2
  • Vici
  • Cloud9
