During BLAST Pro Series Global Final 2019, the tournament operator revealed the invited teams for the Premier’20 season. For now, we know all 12 teams that will participate in the Spring regular season, and system of the league overall. Let’s take a look at what to expect from BLAST Premier 2020.

Who will play in the Spring season?

12 teams have been invited. Here’s the full list:

  • Natus Vincere
  • Astralis
  • Liquid
  • FaZe
  • Vitality
  • MIBR
  • NiP
  • 100 Thieves
  • OG
  • G2 Esports
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Complexity

The regular season should start in early 2020, we will probably see the first matches in January.

What is the system of BLAST Premier 2020?

BLAST Premier is divided into 2 seasons: Spring 2020 and Fall 2020. Each of them contains multiple stages:

  • Regular season; 12 invited teams will fight for $300,000, six best teams go on to the regular season’s Finals, the 6 worst go to the BLAST Premier Showdown.
  • Showdown; seems to be a relegation event. 10 teams will participate, two  of the best of will go on to the Finals of the regular season. The prize pool for the Showdown 2020 season is $325,000 We don’t know yet who will play in the Showdown except for the six teams who make it through via the regular season. We should probably expect some kind of qualifier and maybe a couple of invites.
  • The winner of the season’s finals earns $500,000 and the slot on Global Final 2020.
  • All we know about Global Final 2020 so far is that the prize pool of the event is $1,500,000 with one million going to the winner. The final stage will include eight teams. Two participants will play as winners of regular seasons, details about six rest teams have not been revealed yet.

We expect Spring’20 regular season to start shortly after a Christmas/New Year break in competitive CS:GO. The whole prize pool of BLAST Premier 2020 is above $4,000,000 and we shouldn’t forget that RFRSH entertainment promised us qualifier tournaments for any team to participate.
