CS:GO: ESL Reveals all Invites to IEM Katowice 2020

With open qualifiers set to start for IEM Katowice 2020, the tournament organizer has revealed all of the direct invites to the IEM World Championship. Ten teams are known and six more will pass to the event through qualifiers.

First of all, three teams have passed to IEM Katowice World Championships with winning previous Masters tournaments. They are Astralis (winners of IEM Beijing 2019), Fnatic (winners of DreamHack Masters Malmö 2019) and Mousesports (winners of ESL Pro League S10 Finals).

Additionally, seven teams got direct invites:

  • 100 Thieves
  • Evil Geniuses
  • Team Liquid
  • Natus Vincere
  • Ninjas in Pyjamas
  • Virtus.pro
  • Vitality

But the event contains 16 teams – six more participants will have to fight in qualifier tournaments, which will start on the 7th of January.

  • Three teams will come from European qualifier;
  • Winners of North American, Asian and Oceanic qualifiers also advance to IEM Katowice 2020.

The IEM Katowice World Championship will be held from the 25th of February to the 1st of March in Katowice, Poland. Participants will fight for a piece of the $500,000 prize pool.
