Dropping your weapon on the high ground
As you probably know, sound plays a crucial role in CSGO. Pro and casual players usually invest a lot of money into buying high-quality headsets that allow them to be more precise while shooting.
We can write a separate guide about the effect on sound in CSGO and the things you must be aware of. To make a long story short, you need to keep track of all sorts of sounds, and one of them is when your opponents drop weapons to get different ones. Even though this sound is not as straightforward as running, good players will spot it and know that you are in a given location.
One of the things that you can do to avoid this is to drop your weapon on the high ground. Doing this will prevent you from making noise and allow you to pick up the new weapon you want. There are loads of places where you can do that, such as going down the stairs on Train to reach the B-site. Simply drop the weapon there; if you do it right, it won’t make any noise.
Building “two-man” towers when needed
One of the few things that set CSGO apart from other shooters is that this game allows you to be creative. You can do all sorts of things to succeed, and one of them is to boost yourself and your allies. By boost, we mean the action of jumping on top of each other.
The so-called “two-man” towers are extremely useful in all sorts of scenarios and can be one of the reasons why you will win the round. Every map has at least a few locations where you can do those things and expect good results. For example, one of them is the door on Nuke, where you can simply throw smoke and then jump on top of your friend. Now that the door is open, you can see your enemies through the smoke because you are on top and get at least a few kills.
Another perfect spot for the two-man towers is on Dust 2. If you are playing on the CT side, you can boost your AWP player while staying near the whole on the wall. Once your teammate gets on top of you, he can easily score at least one kill because no one from the T side will expect him to be there.
Of course, you must be careful when doing this because you can easily die if you aren’t fast enough. That’s why we suggest practicing this before you start playing competitive matches.
Hiding in the smokes
The next tip is a bit strange to explain because there are all sorts of things that you can do to put it to the test. As you know, Smokes are among the most essential utilities in CSGO and one of the reasons why some teams are so successful. You can do loads of things to get better with them, such as watching videos.
Once you know how to throw smokes and what to expect from them, you can use this to your advantage and hide in the smoke. Of course, there is no point in just staying there. Instead, you have to position yourself in a way that will allow you to cover while simultaneously having vision. This will enable you to land sneaky kills on your opponents.
It is advisable to watch at least a couple of videos to see where pro players use their smokes and how they take advantage of them.
Knowing how to jump against AWPers
One of the worst things that can happen in CSGO is to buy weapons, armor, and everything else you need and die to the enemy’s AWPer. Sadly, this always happens because people do not know how to play against the Sniper.
One of the things that you can do is to peek while Jumping, but from awkward angles that your opponents won’t expect. By doing this, the enemy AWPer will most likely miss, allowing you to spray him through the wall or at least force him to go back. This will free enough space for your teammates to push.
One of the good examples of this tactic is if you play on Infomerno and decide to take mid from x2. Simply jump, and you should be able to avoid the incoming shot.
If you rush as a T and have the bomb, ALWAYS stay near the back wall
One of the common mistakes that can cause you to lose a lot of games is to drop the bomb in a location where you won’t be able to retrieve it. There are loads of examples, but one of them is when you rush a given location, such as the A site on Dust 2, and you come from short. If you have the bomb and you are not near the back wall, when you die, you will drop the bomb on the ground near the CT’s spawn.
Needless to say, this will provide your opponents with a massive advantage because they can simply group up and kill the rest of your team. Fortunately, you can easily avoid this simply by staying near the wall.
