Cloud9 Signs Ex-NaVi electroNic and Perfecto to CSGO Roster

Cloud9 makes significant roster changes, confirming the signings of former Natus Vincere players electroNic and Perfecto to their CS:GO lineup

Cloud9 has set the CS:GO scene abuzz with their latest announcements, as they unveil the blockbuster signings of Denis “electroNic” Sharipov and Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy from Natus Vincere. The former NAVI duo will join Cloud9, replacing Vladislav “nafany” Gorshkov and Timur “buster” Tulepov on the Russian-majority roster.

The addition of electroNic and Perfecto to Cloud9 comes after their departure from NAVI's active roster during the off-season. Natus Vincere recently announced their transition towards an international roster, leading to the signings of Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, Justinas “jL” Lekavicius, and Mihai “iM” Ivan.

electroNic, known for his exceptional skills as a rifler, will assume the leadership role from nafany, who has been leading the team since their Gambit Youngsters days in 2019. Although electroNic's individual statistics slightly declined after taking up the in-game leader position in NAVI in 2022, he still maintained a strong level with an impressive 1.11 rating in 2023, placing him second only to his superstar teammate, Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev.

Perfecto joins Cloud9 as a replacement for buster, who had a brief six-month stint with the team after taking the spot of Timofey “interz” Yakushin earlier this year. Perfecto's role in Natus Vincere underwent changes following the addition of Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi to the roster. Despite NAVI's struggles, Perfecto showcased solid individual performances, maintaining a consistent 1.02 rating throughout 2023.

Cloud9's summer transfer period has been exceptionally active, and the signings of electroNic and Perfecto mark the culmination of numerous changes in the tier-one scene. With this revamped roster, Cloud9 boasts a formidable lineup, including top-ranked players such as Ax1Le and sh1ro, as well as electroNic as the in-game leader, HObbit, and Perfecto, who was named the Anchor of the Year in 2022.

Cloud9 Signing Rumors Turned Reality

The rumored Cloud9 roster has garnered attention and generated positive reactions from players in other top teams. Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer remarked, “If the rumored Cloud9 roster happens, that one is the number one [change of the off-season]. They have a good team in that case.” Chad “SPUNJ” Burchill added, “It's almost stupid how perfect it could be.” The potential lineup has been hailed as promising, with Martin “stavn” Lund stating, “It seems like the roles are pretty on spot,” and Rasmus “sjuush” Beck opining that the rumored roster is “really interesting” and “really promising.”

Cloud9's latest signings of electroNic and Perfecto reflect their determination to assemble a competitive CS:GO superteam. These changes come as both Cloud9 and Natus Vincere prepare for the transition from CS:GO to CS2, expected to take place this summer. While Valve has yet to announce official release dates for CS2, the esports community eagerly awaits the switch to the new title.

Cloud9 aims to elevate their performance in the remainder of 2023 after a mixed start to the year. While they achieved a commendable second-place finish at ESL Pro League and emerged victorious at BLAST Premier: Spring European Showdown, their results at other top-tier events have been less impressive. The organization looks to the former NAVI duo to help solidify and strengthen their squad for the upcoming challenges.

Having previously tasted success with NAVI, where they secured the PGL Stockholm Major in 2021 and reached the finals of the PGL Antwerp Major in 2022, electroNic and Perfecto bring valuable experience and skill to the Cloud9 roster. In 2023, they contributed to NAVI's top-four placement at IEM Rio and a top-12 finish at the BLAST Paris Major.
