Another Fortnite OG will drop from the Battle Bus once again.
In the latest edition of “former Fortnite players making their long-awaited return,” we have Fall Skirmish Champion Dennis “Cloakzy” Lepore. Since the end of Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 1, Cloakzy has not played the popular Battle Royale title much at all on his Twitch stream. Like many others, including Nick “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, Cloakzy moved on from Fortnite in favor of Call of Duty: Warzone. The popular Twitch streamer continued building his following with a new Battle Royale and left Fortnite firmly in his past. It’s been a while since Cloakzy last streamed the Epic Games-developed Battle Royale creation that started it all for him, but he recently revealed his much-anticipated return to Fortnite alongside NICKMERCS.

Cloakzy to Return Alongside NICKMERCS
Officially hoping back on FN this week with @NICKMERCS , let’s see how it goes
— cloakzy (@cloakzy) November 19, 2020
Cloakzy, a former FaZe Clan player, will return to Fortnite with one of the same organization’s most significant stars, Nickmercs. Both Cloakzy and Nickmercs have become good friends while playing Call of Duty: Warzone. The two Twitch stars have found success both with their Warzone viewership and in competitive tournaments. However, neither forgot what helped catapult their careers three years ago. Cloakzy and Nickmercs are Fortnite legends, and it was only a matter of time before they returned home.
This is not the first time Cloakzy teased a return to Fortnite. He did so about a month ago, when he tweeted long-time duo partner Turner “Tfue” Tenney, asking him to participate in the Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) competition. Although that did not come to fruition, the mere prospect intrigued fans. Like Cloakzy, Tfue also quit Fortnite recently in favor of Call of Duty: Warzone, though Tfue did briefly revisit Epic Games’ Battle Royale during Twitch’s GlitchCon event. Cloakzy last played Fortnite competitively in FNCS Chapter 2 – Season 1, where he finished 7th with Tfue, Khanada and Fiber.

Warzone Hiatus = Fortnite Resurgence
— FaZe Nickmercs (@NICKMERCS) November 19, 2020
Nickmercs came back to Fortnite for the first time just four days ago with a steady 50,000 viewers and genuinely enjoyed his time playing. Cloakzy might be looking for the same experience. The original Fortnite players who began playing in 2017 grew tired of the game understandably after multiple years of competing and playing it daily. Warzone provided an entirely different Battle Royale title to indulge in and learn. Nickmercs’ return opened the doors of possibility to all that left Fortnite.
Even Tim “TimTheTatman” Betar humored Nickmercs and played some Fortnite on a recent live stream. We are witnessing a resurgence in Fortnite, and many are wondering why. Warzone is currently in limbo after the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. COD developer Treyarch promised to continue Warzone updates in the popular series’ latest installment. However, new content will not arrive until December 10. That could be the catalyst of Nickmercs and Cloakzy coming back to Fortnite.

Although it may not last forever, it will be enjoyable to see some of Fortnite’s original players cranking 90s again. Cloakzy will likely fire up Fortnite on his stream this evening.
