Alongside Boombl4 and Hooch, former Entropiq rifler Aleksei “NickelBack” Trofimov has also signed with the team

Coming hot on the heels of their signing of Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy from Entropiq, Russian CSGO organization 1WIN have now acquired the services of former Entropiq coach Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov and Natus Vincere ex-captain Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov.

The team has also announced that they are letting go of Aleksandr “glowiing” Matsievich, while NickelBack will stay with the team after having played a few games with them last month.

The combination of hooch, NickelBack and Forester, who have experience working together on Entropiq, will be enhanced by the veteran captaincy of the former Na’ Vi stalwart. The signing of these players is a significant upgrade over the previous lineup, with longtime rifler Aleksandr “TRAVIS” Timkiv and talented sniper Denis “deko” Zhukov being the only remnants of the previous roster. As long as there isn’t a clash of styles and ideas, this team should be able to put up a fight against the best of them, and maybe even grab some lower-tier silverware.

A large part of the community are eagerly looking forward to Boombl4’s return to the scene after he was put on the back burner by Natus Vincere in mid-2022. This move was not prompted by performance issues, but rather a scandal involving the 24-year-old and his wife. Fearing public backlash at having a potentially convicted player on their CSGO roster, the Ukrainian organization quickly benched Boombl4. The Major-winning IGL did not see any further action for the team, and would be released following the termination of his contract in January 2023.

Boombl4’s name was cleared of all charges at the start of this year, and his fans will finally get to see him in a professional capacity again in the ESL Challenger League’s Upper Bracket quarter-finals, after the team already beat Sprout and Believe in the bracket’s first two rounds. This new roster will also be taking part in the closed qualifiers for the European Regional Major Rankings for the upcoming BLAST.tv Paris Major.

The current roster of 1WIN is as follows:

  • Kirill “Boombl4” Mikhailov
  • Aleksei “NickelBack” Trofimov
  • Igor “Forester” Bezotecheskiy
  • Denis “deko” Zhukov
  • Aleksandr “TRAVIS” Timkiv
  • Dmitry “hooch” Bogdanov (coach)

The Old One
When he's not sighing at sub-standard teammates in Dota 2 and CS2, The Old One is writing about those two games (among other things). If you see his name around the site too many times for your liking, well, the guy just never stops writing. Yes, we've tried an intervention.
